UK & US Search Awards Judges: Halide & Pınar

This year our very own Halide and Pınar will be taking part in the judge’s panel for the UK Search Awards and the US Search Awards. These Search Awards are following the European Search Awards and the MENA Search Awards that happened earlier this year. The UK Awards celebrate the very best in SEO, PPC and Content Marketing in the United Kingdom and this will be the seventh annual event this year. Halide will be judging the entries here.

As the US Search Awards is considered as the biggest celebration of Search, PPC and digital marketing in the US, it is an honor for us to have Pınar being selected into the team of judges. This will be the fifth year of this annual event.

According to the UK and US Search Awards website; 'All categories will be judged by an influential and respected international judging panel. The judging is a robust, credible and transparent two-step process, involving pre-scoring and a face to face panel discussion.'

As award winners in both the European Search Awards and the MENA Search Awards, Co-Founders Halide and Pınar know what goes into an award-winning campaign. We believe they will be excellent judges! So, let’s get to know them a bit more...


Halide is a digital marketer with over a decade of experience in Search Engine Marketing, Search Engine Optimization & Business Development. She has a strong passion for all Search & Inbound related marketing. She worked in Google Dublin before she founded her own Digital Marketing Agency.

She is now Co-Founder at Kubix Digital, a search-focused Digital Marketing Agency based in Istanbul & Berlin. She says that she loves her job, because she lives and works for the values that her company and she represents: Taking Ownership, Thinking & Working Smart, Communicating with each other, whether it's a teammate or a client and last but not least supporting others.

Halide will be judging the UK Search Awards. This year the awards are hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr, and will feature 28 categories.

Halide will be judging the applications for the awards on the criteria listed in the judging criteria. However, within the strategy, creativity or the innovation, what she as a UK Search Awards judge is looking for, is something that wows her.

She says:

“I am looking for an entry that stands out from the rest. I am a person with an eye for detail, so a ‘no go’ for me would be the submission of an old entry or an entry full of typos or grammar mistakes. I am hoping to read entries that show how an agency met and exceeded the client’s expectations and a proof of consistent optimization. I would also like to see how an award entry uses technology to enhance their campaigns and examples of innovation within the campaign. The entry should tell a story about what the business challenges were, how the team approached and solved it, plus, of course, achieved impressive results.”

US Search Awards Judge PINAR ÜNSAL

Pınar has spent more than 12 years within the Search Engine Marketing Industry and has participated as a guest speaker & opinion leader at various universities, conferences & roundtables internationally.

Pınar started her career at bwin in Gibraltar managing a team of 18 international Client Account Managers. In early 2005 she joined Google’s European HQ Dublin/ Ireland as Account Manager & Strategist for the German & Turkish Market.

Before founding her own agency, Kubix Digital, in 2007 Pınar was part of the ‘landing crew’ for setting up the Google Turkey office in Istanbul back in 2006. Pinar Ünsal studied Business Administration and International Business at the University of Trier (Germany) and at MSSU (USA).

Pınar will be a judge at the US Search Awards. The 2017 US Search Awards, celebrate the very best in SEO, PPC and Content Marketing in the US. The US search awards was launched after the success of the UK Search Awards and the European Search Awards. Both events and this years first MENA Search Awards are sponsored by Don’t Panic.

As a judge, Pınar wants to see integrity in addition to thinking outside the box within the entries that were submitted.

Pınar says:

“I’m really excited to read the various applications. I’m sure there will be lots of high quality entries showcasing excellent use of data and innovation. I’m especially looking forward to judge entries that are using technology in combination with creativity. For example, on the Google side, there are some product features that have not launched yet for the Turkish market, but are in use in the US. So, it will be interesting to see how these product releases work in the cases submitted. An award-winning entry should inspire the judges with ideas for their own digital marketing "
